He was old and hearing impaired, including not being able to hear high-pitched sounds (such as every electronic ring, ding, or beep we all live by), so he bought specialty phones that light up when they ring and have larger buttons. They are pictured below in the order described.

Durabrand phone - corded, large display, speaker phone. - $10

Clarity amplified phone - cordless, no display - sells for about $90-120 new - $25

RCA Phone - corded, medium size display, speaker phone sells for about $85-125 new - $25
